|
|
We’re partnering with Wine Punts to give away some of the coolest drinking glasses we’ve ever seen. They are made from the bottom half of old wine bottles. Up for grabs are four small drinking glasses and four large ones. Check below for a full list of ways to enter. Entries will be received until December 15, 2011 at 11:59 PST. Good luck!

I like to cut up worn out white t-shirts into reusable cleaning/dusting rags ヅ *Thanks* for the giveaway!
For a greener holiday, we’re wrapping gifts in the comics section of the newspaper or brown grocery bags that we’ve decorated with markers.

Don’t buy in the first place and then you don’t even have to recycle the packaging and add to your trash. Helps your pocketbook, too.
To be more green, I have been cutting back on printing (both home & work), using online statements & bill-pay options, and printing on the backside of paper when its necessary to print. Also, I have switched my home printer pater to a product that uses post-consumer recycled paper. Trying to think of other approaches & really like Patricia’s Christmas wrap ideas.
Thanks for the contest opportunity DYP.
I use the front half of last year’s Christmas cards (as long as there is no handwriting on either side) as gift tags
Before I recycle old magazines and wine bottles, I use them to stuff my boots! This helps them keep their shape and prevents a floppy shoe mess in my closet!
We try to recycle, reuse and compost as much as possible. We also grow a lot of our own vegetables.

During the gardening seasons, I keep a jug by the kitchen sink to collect all water that would normally go down the sink. Then I water the garden with the collected water.
Oooh! Love these! I saw them somewhere once and then couldn’t find them again!
Argh, submitted too soon!
At large gatherings when you are tempted to but a surplus of disposable cups because drinks get mixed up and tossed, etc. instead set out a permanent marker at the drink station so that people can write their name on their cup. Everyone will then theoretically only use one cup, reducing the waste.
Recycle.
I wait to go out until I absolutely have to and do all my running at one time. I have it down to only needing to drive my car once every two weeks. My car is 11 years old and only has 50,000 miles on it in spite of living in a rural area!
I use knitted cloths instead of sponges.
I use wash rags instead of paper towels. Great glasses!
turn down the hot water heater and wrap it with an insulation blanket!
