Oregon allows several AGI subtractions for military personnel. Military pay earned by resident service members stationed outside Oregon is not taxed, including qualifying National Guard and Reserve members ordered away from home overnight for 21 days or more, as well as Oregon National Guard members serving on state active duty. After these exclusions, any remaining taxable military pay may qualify for an additional subtraction of up to $6,000. Service members serving in a combat zone are also granted a 180-day extension to file and pay Oregon income taxes.
