Service members and their immediate family who are residents of Vermont and living out of state due to service with a valid Vermont license may be entitled to operate a motor vehicle with an expired license during the term of service and until 30 days after military discharge.

Vermont allows state employees serving in the National Guard or Reserves to take authorized leave for military training, supporting career continuity, readiness, and family stability.
