Alaska law (Title 7, Chapter 57, Section 15 (a)(2) of the Alaska Administrative Code) simplifies military childcare facility operations by eliminating conflicting state regulations, reducing barriers and improving access to quality military childcare.

Requires qualifying military members and military spouses to obtain permanent licensure within 30 days of a completed application. 61 licenses issued under SCRA in 2024, 119 in 2025.
Will allow the option for temporary licensure for nearly all professions, thus allowing individuals to get to work more quickly while moving through the process for permanent licensure.
Nine temporary military courtesy licenses were issued in 2022, 40 in 2023, 31 in 2024, 4 in 2025
