Washington State Attorney General’s Military & Veteran Legal Resource Guide and Webpage

The Washington State Attorney General’s Military & Veteran Legal Resource Webpage promotes and facilitates civil legal assistance programs, pro bono services, and self-help services for military members, veterans, and their families.

Military & Family Readiness Specialists are available to assist service members and their families pre-, during, and post-deployment in six main areas: legal resources, financial counseling, TRICARE resources, ID cards and DEERS, crisis intervention, and community information.

Military & Veteran Legal Resource Guide: resource navigation and referrals connecting military families to benefits, services, and local support programs in Washington.

MVAP educated military members and veterans on scams targeting their community, how to protexct themselves, and how to report scams.

Florida Veterans Courts handle criminal cases involving service members and veterans, providing treatment‑focused support for underlying issues like PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and substance abuse to help military families reintegrate and avoid further legal problems.

Ohio Attorney General’s Office Services include services for active duty families and veterans, resources, and handgun license information.

SERVE empowers veterans to navigate the justice system with confidence, providing them the tools and support necessary to achieve successful outcomes.  Instead of operating within the traditional court system, Veterans Treatment Courts function on a separate track, offering peer specialists and treatment plans tailored to address veterans' specific needs. The SERVE team operates as trusted advocates committed to promoting justice, equality, and the overall well-being of our veteran community

Utah provides resources and support through the United Families Program, helping National Guard members and their families maintain readiness, reintegration, and family well-being.

Washington’s Attorney General provides a neutral, low‑cost dispute resolution program for manufactured and mobile home tenancy, helping service members, veterans, and military families resolve rental issues without costly litigation.

Free or low-cost childcare through Washington state’s Working Connections Child Care Subsidy program.

Military members who are legal residents of Rhode Island and are the holder of a valid RI driver's license may apply for a special operator's license. Licenses may also be renewed online.

Identifies military childcare options in Colorado, including license-exempt family, friend, and neighbor (FFN) care and DoD-approved Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood-PLUS programs that offer fee assistance for community-based childcare.

Virginigia requires certain injuries to children be reported by physicians, nurses, teachers, etc., and there is a penalty for failure to report.

Kentucky protects National Guard members from arrest while on state active duty, except for felonies, supporting readiness, focus on duties, and family stability during service

Wyoming provides legal protections for National Guard members, supporting service member rights, readiness, and family stability while serving on active duty or in the Reserves.
